Dr. Muhammed Abdul Hakkim Azhari

As Chief Imam, he serves as the spiritual head of one of India's largest mosques located within Markaz Knowledge City. With the capacity to accommodate twenty five thousand worshippers, the Masjid blends Indian, Persian, and classical Islamic architectural traditions.

Beyond its spiritual role, it functions as a cultural and intellectual centre hosting religious gatherings, scholarly sessions, and community programmes. The mosque complex also includes a traditional marketplace celebrating Indian craftsmanship, strengthening its position as both a landmark of faith and cultural heritage.

Founded in 2001 under his vision, Jamia Madeenathunnoor was established to revive Islamic scholarship through structured modern educational methodologies. The institution integrates secular and spiritual education within a balanced academic framework and oversees more than twenty affiliated institutions.

It has grown into a respected centre of excellence producing scholars and community leaders serving nationally and internationally. The model emphasises intellectual depth, moral refinement, and disciplined academic formation rooted in tradition and contemporary relevance.

Initiated in 2002 and developed across 125 acres in Kaithapoyil near Kozhikode, Markaz Knowledge City stands as a comprehensive integrated township under his administrative direction. The project combines scholarship, residential life, education, healthcare, commerce, and cultural engagement within a unified developmental framework.

Recognised as one of South India's major mega projects, it generates thousands of employment opportunities and houses research centres, professional colleges, healthcare institutions, and the Indian Grand Masjid. The city represents a balanced model of institutional growth rooted in ethical vision and strategic infrastructure planning.

Appointed in 2007 as Rector of Jamia Markaz, Calicut, one of South India's leading Islamic universities. Under his stewardship, the institution has developed into a large academic network overseeing more than fifty affiliated institutions and numerous centers across India. These include orphanages, Quran memorization schools, religious colleges, higher secondary schools, and faculties of arts, sciences, engineering, and professional studies.

Recognized by Al Azhar University in Cairo and major Indian universities, Jamia Markaz serves over twenty thousand students directly. It integrates religious scholarship with contemporary academic disciplines while maintaining structured governance and institutional excellence.
